(a) all tritium in any dispersed form shipped to countries listed in 110.30 will be retained for five years, or until the licensee can demonstrate that the tritium has been reprocessed into a form that can be safely disposed of.

(b) the licensee is responsible for the safe transport of tritium in any dispersed form. the licensee shall comply with all applicable importation and handling regulations, including, but not limited to, those of the international atomic energy agency.

(1) if the total quantity of tritium in any dispersed form exported to a country is less than the quantity in paragraph (e)(2) of this section, then the licensee may ship the tritium in any dispersed form to that country without a license. a record shall be maintained to show the amount of tritium exported, the date of export, the name and address of the person shipping the tritium, and the name and address of the person receiving the tritium.

(2) if the total quantity of tritium in any dispersed form exported to a country is more than the quantity in paragraph (e)(2) of this section, then the licensee shall obtain an export license from the commission. a record shall be maintained to show the amount of tritium exported, the date of export, the name and address of the person shipping the tritium, and the name and address of the person receiving the tritium.
